Cancelled – Jan 25 Junior Nordics
Junior Nordic practice for tonight, Tuesday January 25th is cancelled. This decision has been made due to hazardous road and trail conditions. Our dedicated groomers will be working hard to get trails back in shape as temperatures cool down this evening. Be careful out there. |
Cancelled – Jan 24 Junior Nordics
Due to current trail conditions, both Junior Nordic sessions for today, January 24th are cancelled. This includes afternoon and evening practice. For your safety and preservation of the surface we ask that folks stay off the trails at GPRA until the temperatures cool down and grooming resumes. Any other schedule changes will be communicated as quickly as we learn them. Thankfully, there is snow in the forecast so keep doing your snow dances!
Junior Nordic and Adult Ski Lesson Cancellations and Info
The Coaching Clinic rescheduled for today, January 4th is now cancelled….Please check your email inbox later today for new Coach Clinic training information. Spread the word… if you are in touch with any other Junior Nordic Coaches, reach out to them to see if they received this information.
The start of Junior Nordic for families is cancelled for this week and will now begin next week, January 10th. Expect an email that will outline the new start dates.
Due to downed trees and debris on the trails, we are also postponing the start of Adult ski Lessons. Friday, Saturday and Sunday classes are yet to be determined. More information to follow for you as well.
If anyone ventures up to GPRA, please help us clear branches from the trails so grooming can resume asap. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.
Cancelled – Junior Nordics Coaches Clinic
Tonight’s Junior Nordic Coach Clinic at GPRA is cancelled due to dangerous road conditions and continuing high wind. We are hopeful tomorrow will bring calmer weather and sanded roads. We ask that everyone plan to attend the Coach Clinic tomorrow night, Tuesday, January 4th from 5:30-7:30pm at GPRA. We will continue to monitor conditions and electricity at GPRA and keep you informed of any other changes as they are made. September 15th – Junior Nordics Registration is open to everybody
Register for Junior Nordics! On September 15th Junior Nordics registration opens to all!
Junior Nordics registration starts September 8th at 9AM!
Junior Nordics registration opens for returning families on September 8th, at 9AM, this year. On September 15th registration will open for all. The program fills up fast, so don’t hesitate!
Junior Nordics ski return is May 6 and 7
This Thursday and Friday – Junior Nordics ski, pole, and boot return – May 6th and 7th from 6pm to 7:30pm, in the GPRA parking lot.
You must sign up for a time slot (we are still trying to avoid crowds). *Please note: families only need to sign up for ONE time slot, regardless of the number of skis being returned.*
- Skis must be clean: Please remove as much wax as you can using a scraper, then use a ski wax solvent to remove the remainder of the wax from the bottom, sides, and top of your skis. Skis with wax still on them will be cleaned by a high school ski team member and you will be charged $10. All proceeds will benefit the ski team.
Junior Nordics Ski Return
Junior Nordics ski returns are on the evenings of May 6th and 7th at GPRA. The April 17th date is cancelled. The ski return date has changed now that we have a bunch of new snow. If your family skied with Mat-Su Junior Nordics this winter, use this link to sign up for a time slot to return the gear you rented. Skis are expected to be returned clear of any wax, so please use a scraper and wax solvent to clean the bottom, sides, and tops of all skis you’re returning. Any gear returned with wax will be cleaned by a high school ski team member, and the skier’s family will be charged $10. Funds will benefit the high school’s ski team.
