The Blue Crew

Become one of our Blue Crew of race volunteers and get this insulated coat!

Many of you have consistently turned out to help in the Club's races, and we want to reward you with a styling jacket to wear at the races and around town. We would also like to invite new volunteers for our upcoming race season to take advantage of this offer.

We have nine races planned this race season. If you commit to helping at five or more of them you will earn this highly-coveted, embroidered puffy to wear at the races and around town.

We have volunteer opportunities suitable for everyone! Volunteers are necessary for race setup and takedown, for crowd control, for parking control, and for staffing the race start and finish lines. You can learn most jobs quite easily, and we will train you. There are many return volunteers and they will help you during the races. Some positions take a few hours before the races, some a few hours after the races, and many volunteers are needed, of course, during the races.

The time commitments vary with the task. Some tasks require only a couple of hours, but others require you to be there during the race. For during-race tasks, the Icicle Double Races require 4-6 hours; the High School Races require 4-5 hours; and the Northern Light races require 2-3 hours.

You can pick five or more races from this list:

  1. Icicle Double Classic Race, Saturday December 28, 2019
  2. Icicle Double Skate Race, Sunday December 29, 2019
  3. High School Race, Friday January 10, 2020
  4. High School Race, Saturday January 11, 2020
  5. 1st Northern Lights Race, Sunday January 12, 2020
  6. 2nd Northern Lights Race, Sunday January 26, 2020
  7. High School Race, Friday February 7, 2020
  8. High School Race, Saturday February 8, 2020
  9. 3rd Northern Lights Race, Sunday February 23, 2020

Sign up here to qualify for your Blue Crew jacket. We will be ordering the jackets on December 10, so make sure to sign up before then.

Join the Blue Crew even if you can't attend 5 races (which is a lot), your help will be  greatly appreciated , and you'll be rewarded with great friends and exciting races!
