2021 Mat-Su Ski for Women |
Don your favorite costume and come ski for a worthy cause February 14th during the annual Ski for Women event! All are welcome at this family friendly ski!
|
In order to minimize groups, the course will be open to skiers between 11:00-3:00, and a photographer will be on site to take photos as skiers arrive at the photo booth on the trail. An online photo contest will decide who will receive the coveted "golden ski pole" after the votes are tallied!
|
Participants and spectators are encouraged to contribute feminine hygiene products, which will be collected and distributed to women and girls in need in our community. There will also be a split-the-pot, and 50% of those donations will donated to Alaska Family Services, with the other 50% being given to one lucky winner! Sweatshirts, headbands, and other commemorative items will be sold throughout the day. |
All donations received and profits earned during Ski for Women benefit Alaska Family Services.

Icicle Double 2020 Mat-Su Icicle Double 2020 drew in approximately 90 skiers, including former Olympians, teams from around Alaska, and Santa Claus, who raced the trails at GPRA on December 26th and 27th.
|
Skiers enjoyed the low key, safe atmosphere throughout the weekend, and the chance to get some ski racing in during December.
|
A big thank you to the race crew and many volunteers who made this race so successful!

Adult Ski Lessons |
The Mat-Su Ski Club's adult ski lessons are underway! We have classes in beginner and intermediate level classic and skate skiing. We're keeping class sizes small for COVID safety, which means you get lots of individual attention. Although many of the beginner classes are full, sign up on the waitlist if you can't get what you want. If there's enough interest we'll try to hold some additional classes. There's still room in the intermediate classes that are held on Fridays and Sundays. Sign up at https://matsuski.org/product/adult-cross-country-ski-lessons/ |
